Frequently Asked Questions

How long will the stone last?

If properly selected and cut, granite should last essentially forever. It is a very hard stone – and that's precisely why we use it for our memorials. At our manufacturing plant, we also use a sandblast process for the design and lettering. This becomes "part of" the granite and will also last indefinitely.

Who installs the memorials?

Proper installation is often a two-part process: (1) pouring a foundation and (2) setting the marker or monument. Some cemeteries require that their personnel do all foundation work. If they will allow us to complete the formal installation ourselves, we will. Otherwise, after the foundation has been poured, we will deliver the memorial to the cemetery and see that it is properly installed.

How is the carving and design put on the stone?

At Tribute, we pride ourselves on our manufacturing process. All engraving and design work is done inhouse. We employ skilled craftsmen who use traditional methods to hand-carve specialized designs. We also have the most advanced, computer-guided sandblast processes available. But most important of all, we have the experience to know which methods will be most effective at providing you with a design that is artfully and permanently engraved in your chosen color and style of stone.

If I want a special design, can you do it?

Absolutely. We take pride in our ability to personalize each memorial. Our craftsmen can duplicate any existing design or family legacy pattern – or create a new design that’s personalized especially for you. We have literally thousands of design options to choose from, but we can also accommodate special requests. Be assured: when you sit down with one of our specialists, we can help you design a meaningful and personal memorial.

Do all cemeteries allow the same type of memorial?

No. Each cemetery typically has its own requirements for the size and type of memorials that it will allow. We will work with you to determine what is allowed at your cemetery and what will look best on your lot. Please call us at 210-581-2929 for answers to your questions regarding cemetery regulations.
